shoulder break just needs to heal on its own...thankfully no surgery required...break is in the humerus and is small....healing time will take longer than usual due to compromised immune system.....so no driving for a while...!!!!!add more to the "this sucks " pile
oncologist says its up to me whether to have my scheduled treatment on thurs..... i chose to say yes ...she says i'm a "trooper' - maybe i'm just crazy !!!! as it's a new drug for the next 4 treatments and i have no idea about its side effects....
BONUS - family & friends are bringing great food!!!!
if you believe in lighting candles, i can use all the light you can send

That's a lot of typing with one finger.

I'm happy to type posts that you dictate.

I'll call in the morning on my way to work.

I have just been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. It is hard for me to adjust to this new lifestyle that can vary greatly. It isn't cancer but it is still hard to live with. I understand your pain and if it is true that misery loves company. Always here with love!

I'll also reply on the blog ...

You were missed at the party, but your absence was clearly understood. Pat kept saying she didn't know enough people for a party in her honor, but of course many showed up. It was lovely to see how much her mom appreciated seeing her amongst all her friends from the various stages of her life. Marilyn, Marilyn, Alison and Jim Holley represented the Centre. Hillary & Company -- EHC LifeBuilders. Marianna and Brandy - Bread for the Journey. There were folks from companies past. Michael and Marco. And more. And, of course, there was chocolate.

Might be meeting Pat in Monterey on Sunday. I do miss her, but am so thrilled for this opportunity. You should see the yurt she's living in -- totally adorable (tho' small with room for very little stuff.) But then she can see and hear the ocean and look up through a skylight over her bed to catch the twinkling stars. (Would be a tough trade-off for you and me and all the 7s in the world to weight the wonders of the setting against the seperation anxiety of leaving behind things -- precious and silly, old and new, necessary and whimsical.

Please forgive the abyssmal record in keeping in touch. No excuses -- just wish there were more time in the day. I watch Ava every Thursday afternoon. How are your mornings? After dropping Leticia at school at 8:30 - I generally settle into a coffee house on WIFI until 11:30 when I head over to Brian & Ninon's house. Would it be OK to call and see if you're up to a morning visit on any given Thursday? I could bring by something sweet and gooey and decadent from Le Boulanger or the Orchard City Roasting Company. Does anything sound appealing these days -- other than a clean bill of health and dancing shoes?

I'd like to come by on Monday if that works for you -- I rarely get out of here before 8:30+ in the evening, but blessedly have Monday off. Would it be OK if I stopped in for a visit to drop off something for lunch and dinner? And if you need anything from the store, I can pick that up as well.

It breaks my heart that you are encountering one challenge after another. Do you realize how incredibly strong you are -- even though I'm sure it would be heavenly to be otherwise! I am in awe! But I'm betting you'd trade awe-inspiring for normal in a heartbeat ...

Love - Steph

You know that I light a candle for you and others in need of the positive energy EVERYDAY! Aunt Anna taught me that many years ago.
Sending you love and light,
Cousin Mary
